All types of thoughts normally crop up while meditating. Whenever you realize that you are thinking and a thought pops up, you can greet the thought and then visualize the thought drifting away. Some people visualize placing their thought on a paper boat to float down a river. Or another one is to visualize that each thought is a cloud that blows away. Practice observing the thought as something that is happening in your brain, but recognizing that the thought is only a thought and not real in the world. Meditation is a practice and can take time to shape and transform. If you are considering self-harm or harming others, we recommend you reach out to a mental health professional in your area.
